Ex- Kontiki is an Outdoor Exercise designed for Naval student officers in the Second Term with an Aim of developing the Leadership Skills, Team Work, Creativity and Professionalism in an atmosphere of adventure and to develop confidence in task planning. In keeping with this requirement Ex – Kontiki for DSCSC Course No 12 took place from 02 to 04 July 2018 along the ‘River Kelani, where student officers of the Naval Wing were required to design and build an indigenous craft in preparation for White water Rafting from general area ‘Avissawella’ to ‘Kaluaggala’, where the river stretches approximately 17 km in length.
On successful completion of the aforementioned expedition student were tasked to engage in Organized Outdoor Leadership Activities, such as River Crossing, Compass March, co-operative games and rappelling the Kaluaggala rock. This Exercise lasted for 3 days and culminated with a Camp Fire organized by student officers.
Maj Gen J R Kulatunga RSP ndc psc, Commandant DSCSC and senior officers of DSCSC also attended for the camp fire.
