The Defence Attache of the Embassy of United States to Sri Lanka, Lieutenant Colonel Matthew House, called on the Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Major General H H K S S Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc, on 26 November 2025.
The Commandant extended a cordial welcome to the visiting Defence Attache upon his arrival, marking the start of a fruitful and engaging visit. The subsequent discussions offered an excellent opportunity to further reinforce the established defence partnership between Sri Lanka and the United States. Both officials placed particular emphasis on improving collaboration in military education and training, specifically through increased professional military engagements designed to foster mutual understanding, interoperability, and capacity-building.
During the interaction session, the Defence Attache shared views with the Chief Instructors of Army, Navy and Air Wings, Brigadier Coordinating, Colonel Admin and Quartering, Colonel General Staff, and members of the faculty. The session concluded with a pleasant gathering for refreshments that ensured the continuation of exchanging views and enhancement of professional relationships.
To commemorate the visit and to symbolize the enduring friendship between the two nations, a memento was presented by the Commandant, DSCSC to Lieutenant Colonel Matthew House, underscoring the shared commitment to ongoing defence cooperation in the future.
