HASH RUN 2026: A DAY OF CAMARADERIE, ADVENTURE AND FELLOWSHIP

The Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) successfully conducted its annual Hash Run 2026 on 12 September 2026, bringing together the Commandant, Faculty Members, Permanent Staff, Local and Foreign Course Participants and their families for an enjoyable day away from the demands of academic life. With the guidance of the Commandant of the DSCSC, the event was organised in a spirit of camaraderie, enthusiasm and fellowship.

Originating in Malaya in 1938, the Hash Run has evolved into a popular international recreational activity that combines physical challenge, adventure and social interaction. This year, the event was organised in collaboration with the Colombo Hash House Harriers Club, with the run commencing in the outdoor areas adjacent to the College. Participants encountered a variety of tracks and obstacles, adding an element of challenge and excitement while encouraging teamwork and a sense of adventure.

Beyond the run itself, the event provided an opportunity for participants to interact in a relaxed and informal environment. The day continued with social and recreational activities at the White Wall area, where participants gathered to unwind and enjoy the occasion. The enthusiasm of the families added colour and warmth to the event, making it a memorable experience for everyone.

For the Course Participants and their families, Hash Run 2026 offered more than a recreational activity. It provided an opportunity to experience the friendly and inclusive spirit of DSCSC, strengthen bonds among members of the College community and create lasting memories beyond the classroom. Hash Run 2026 was a memorable occasion that strengthened the bonds of camaraderie and fellowship within the DSCSC community.
