In accordance with a concept of the Commandant, Maj Gen Lasantha Rodrigo, an All – Night Pirith Chanting Ceremony was held on 02 August 2023 at the college premises in order to invoke blessings to the college, the staff and the student officers. Given the much prominence to the preserved culture and traditions, the Commandant respectfully carried the relic casket in the procession and offered the tray of betel to members of the Maha Sangha, seated in the Pirith Mandapaya, inviting them to commence chanting until the following morning.
The Pirith chanted by Maha Sangha mixed the soothing vibrations of ancient Buddhist chants, creating a profound sense of peace and harmony in the college. Officers, other ranks and civil servants of the college, participated in this event all night and reserved blessing of the noble triple gem.
This ceremony concluded with the offering of ‘Heel Daana’ (alms) to ven. Maha Sangha on the following morning.
