The Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Major General K W Jayaweera USP psc, paid a courtesy call on the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) WWV, RWP and two Bars, RSP and Bar, USP, MMSc (Strat Stu-China), MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), fndu (China), psc on 05 January 2026, following his assumption of duties as the 12^th Commandant of the College.

During the meeting, the Commandant, DSCSC expressed his appreciation for the continued guidance and support extended by the Ministry of Defence to the Defence Services Command and Staff College in fulfilling its mandate of nurturing professionally competent officers for the Armed Forces. Discussions focused on the College’s academic programmes, ongoing developments, and its contribution to strengthening professional military education and strategic leadership.

The interaction reaffirmed the close cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the DSCSC in upholding the highest standards of training and education for tri-service officers.
