COMMANDER OF THE AIR FORCE HONOURED AT DSCSC, DELIVERED AN INSPIRING ADDRESS TO COURSE NO 18 GRADUANDS

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal R A U P Rajapakse RSP and two Bars, VSV, USP, MSc (MOA) USA, MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, MA in IS&S (UK), BSc (Def Stu), MIM (SL), AMIE (SL), rcds, psc received a warm welcome by the Commandant of the DSCSC, Major General D K S K Dolage USP psc on 03 December 2024.

In conforming to its long-preserved tradition, the highest military commanders in the armed forces of the country are formally invited to address the Course Participants prior to their graduation to share their treasured war experience. Preceding the address to the Course Participants of the Course No 18, the Commander of the Air Force made a courtesy call at the Commandant’s Office.

Then he delivered an insightful speech on the topic, ‘Reforms of Sri Lanka Air Force 2030’, emphasizing the importance of enhancing SLAF’s operational capabilities to address the evolving global security landscape. He underscored key priorities, including air space management, cyber security, maritime security, and their impact on the nation’s security. The session concluded with a highly fruitful question-and-answer segment, fostering an engaging exchange of ideas and perspectives.

 

Following his speech, he was presented with a commemorative plaque as a token of appreciation. In a gesture of mutual respect, the Commander of the Air Force reciprocated by presenting a plaque to the College, highlighting the significance of his visit and the esteem in which he is held. The visit continued with a delightful interactive session, providing an opportunity for informal discussions, fostering an environment of camaraderie and knowledge sharing.
