COMMANDER OF THE ARMY BESTOWED THE T -55 MEDIUM BATTLE TANK AND 130 MM GUN AT THE DEFENCE SERVICES COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE

The Commandant, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP psc IG welcomed the Chief Guest; the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu on 23 March 2023 on the occasion of bestowing the T -55 Medium Battle Tank and 130 mm Gun at the Defence Services Command & Staff College adding much glamour with an air of majestic elegance and a vivid picture of the military history of Sri Lanka.

These historical armaments not only leave its invaluable legacy of the service rendered to the nation but also serve as a face lifter of the image of the college whilst the multinational student community is inclined to the Sri Lankan military professionalism to the other part of the world.

The Chief Guest visited the college premises before the tea hosted at the upper longue of the Officers’ mess where he was presented with a special souvenir for positively patronizing the concept of bestowing the battle armaments at the college upon the request of the Commandant.

Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief Field Engineer, Commander Security Forces Jaffna, Director General EME, Director Engineer Services, Commander Armoured Brigade, Director Sports, Commander Artillery Brigade, Commandant and the staff of the DSCSC attended the ceremony.
