The college being the apex of the military training for the middle grade officers of Sri Lanka Armed Forces, charts along the path of academic excellence and it is of mandatory requisites of the Staff College to produce the prospective undergraduates with academically sound in both General and Logistic matters to be qualified in the coveted status, ‘psc ‘.
In view of grooming selected middle grade officers of the tri-services for being capable of shouldering increasing responsibilities both in command and staff appointments, the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), organized a DS Enrichment Programme on 17 April 2024 at the White Hall, DSCSC. Outlining the objectives and expectations, the programme commenced with a motivating speech, by the Commandant, DSCSC, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP psc IG.
The programme was mainly focused on providing a rigorous academic and professional experience on diverse realms of knowledge. Lectures were conducted by professionals and renowned military veterans. RAdm (Retd) YN Jayarathna RWP* RSP USP ndu psc MDS MHS was the resource person for the topic of Military Career Development. Major General A P Wickramasekara (retd) USP psc SLSC shared a valuable lecture on Enriching DSs towards students’ Knowledge Management and Development and the Mr Shakthi De Silva conducted a lecture on Current Global Geopolitical and Security Challenges: Impact on Sri Lanka. Their profound insights and leadership acumen infused the programme with a unique blend of military discipline.
