DS ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME I-2023

The DSCSC being a renowned higher military education institute, does value the importance of enhancing and updating its faculty members’ knowledge as focussed on the curriculum and learning of course participants. Assuring above, the DS enrichment programme for the Term I of year 2023, was conducted on 02 and 03 Jan 23 at the Defence Services Command and Staff College, prior to the commencement of the DSCSC course No 17. The programme commenced with the opening remarks by the Commandant highlighting the importance of the DS enrichment programme.

 

The lectures were conducted by professionals from other universities and renowned military veterans. Major General KRP Rovel (Retd) RWP VSV USP ndu psc USACGSC the Director General, Centre for Defence Research Development was the resource person for the topic of Military Decision Making Process.  The Senior Lecturer of University of Sri Jayawardanapura Ms. Dileepa M Endagamage shared a valuable lecture on the Statistical Process for Social Sciences (SPSS) and the Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Brigadier RGU Rajapaksha (Retd) RSP psc conducted a lecture on Research Methodology.

 

Further, subject experts from the Directing Staff conducted lectures and provided details on the areas of syndicate room management, student behaviour management strategies, reviewing learning activities, students’ preparatory guide (SPG) preparation and methods of assessing the student performance. The programme immensely benefitted all the faculty members, especially newly joined DSs to the DSCSC.

 

A friendly cricket encounter and entertainment session, ‘Happy Hour’ at the Officers’ Mess were organised at the end of two days’ programme.
