An exercise code named ‘Suthasia’ was successfully undertaken from 05 Mar to 10 Mar 2021 in the college premises by Air Wing Student Officers of DSCSC course number 15. This exercise was designed as a workshop on writing a formal Appreciation based on a hypothetical scenario. The perceived objective of the Ex Suthasia was to familiarise Student Officers with the methodology of writing an air appreciation through guidance delivered at specific intervals. The exercise was launched on completion of the module on staff papers and appreciations. Before attempting a fully-fledged written air appreciation, it was useful for Student Officers to study and discuss one such scenario and attempt an appreciation with guidance, with a view of eliminating a large number of avoidable errors. The exercise was conducted under the direct guidance and supervision of the Directing Staff through succession of interactions and also provided on the spot feedback on observed shortcomings. The exercise was terminated with the debrief of Acting Chief Instructor of the Air Wing.
