Exercise CARRIER PIGEON was conducted at the Defence Services Command and Staff College from 30 June to 6 July 2025 for the Army Course Participants. The exercise aimed to practice and test the Course Participants’ knowledge in planning and conducting operations at the division and brigade levels, with associated staff works. Out of many objectives, the focus was mainly on improving decision-making abilities under strenuous and time-pressed conditions. The Course Participants were allowed to conduct briefings, back briefings and oral orders on three different requirements under the defensive and offensive operations. At the same time Course Participants got the opportunity, to operate and function headquarters at both division and brigade levels including exchanging of all relevant operational correspondences.
On the last day of the exercise, a wargame was conducted to test the plans produced by the Course Participants. Additionally, they also were given the opportunity to conduct a civil military coordination conference and a media conference as the final events of the exercise.
During the exercise, the Master General Ordinance and the Colonel Commandant of Special Forces Regiment Major General MTI Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc visited each division and brigade headquarters to examine the Combat Service Support planning of the Course Participants as part of the exercise. The Course Participants exhibited significant enthusiasm in addressing complex situations throughout the exercise.
