The Exercise GUIDING LIGHT was conducted from 21 to 22 October 2026 to familiarise Course Participants with the procedures involved in planning and developing training instructions and a block syllabus. The exercise is a key academic requirement for Army Course Participants during Term 4. It involved preparing comprehensive training instructions for an infantry brigade and battalion, followed by the development of the corresponding block syllabus. The exercise concluded with an individual Red Ink Correction (RIC), during which Course Participants were assessed on their ability to apply the knowledge gained to the given exercise setting.
