FAREWELL FORMALITIES HELD FOR THE OUTGOING COMMANDANT OF THE DEFENCE SERVICES COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE, MAJOR GENERAL H H K S S HEWAGE RWP RSP USP rcds psc_2025

Farewell formalities were conducted with due military decorum at the Defence Services Command and Staff College in honour of the outgoing Commandant, Major General H H K S S Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc, marking the conclusion of his distinguished tenure at the College.

On 31 December 2025, Major General H H K S S Hewage was received at the main gate of the College and accorded a ceremonial Tri-Services Guard Turnout in recognition of his service and leadership. The formal proceedings commenced thereafter, reflecting the deep respect and gratitude of the tri-services community for his contributions to the advancement of professional military education at DSCSC.

Addressing the troops, the outgoing Commandant expressed his sincere appreciation for their unwavering commitment, discipline, and professionalism throughout his tenure. This was followed by an All-Ranks Tea, providing an opportunity for officers and other ranks to pay their respects and share a moment of fellowship. A group photograph was subsequently taken to commemorate the occasion.

Major General H H K S S Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc addressed the Faculty members and Permanent Staff Officers, conveying his heartfelt gratitude for the steadfast support, cooperation, and dedication extended to him during his command. He also extended his best wishes to all ranks for the forthcoming New Year, encouraging them to continue upholding the proud traditions and academic excellence of the College.

In accordance with long-standing military traditions, on 01 January 2026, Major General H H K S S Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc was accorded a Street Line Parade to mark his departure from the Defence Services Command and Staff College.
