Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) organized an Inland Study Tour (IST) intending to provide an opportunity for Foreign Student Officers and their families to explore and experience social fabric and landscape of unexplored regions in the Island. The IST is an expedition to the most attracted regions in the country and a life time experience for both Foreign Student Officers and their families since a visitor could hardly get this excited opportunity. Accordingly, the team consisted with 28 Foreign Student Officers and their families visited the places with historic value and natural beauty from 04 to 09 November 2023.
On the very first day, the team visited the most sacred Sri Maha Bodhiya and other places in Anuradhapura with archaeological value. Visiting Jaffna Fort and Nagadeepaya in Jaffna peninsula added more value to the Tour. On the 3rd day, they visited the battle field in Mullaitivu where 30 decades long war was taken place and this was a great opportunity for the visiting team to witness the battle sites. As the final location of the tour, they visited Trincomalee, where the world’s most attracted beaches and other natural heritages are located.
In organizing this excited opportunity, the military headquarters of Army, Navy and Air Force located in the visited areas provided their fullest support to end the tour as another successful event of the DSCSC.
