Religious extremism and radicalisation in the recent past has significantly affected the security of individuals, communities and nation states at large. It also posed momentous challenges to the ethnic harmony of all societies. In the recent past the manifestation of religious extremism based attacks by violent extremists appeared to escalate day by day and this new trend of radicalisation has taken the lives of many innocent people of different countries and nationalities. The root causes of religious extremism based radicalisation are complex, multifaceted and are often intertwined in nature.
