The “Exercise Magnum Force” is a major exercise of the DSCSC course calendar that provides the Student Officers with a great opportunity to perform as think – tanks and formulate a draft National Security Policy of Sri Lanka and to practice strategic analysis process.
In view of enlightening student officers knowledge on the subject, the college invited one of the former Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and a former commandant of the DSCSC, Major General KADA Karunasekara (Retd) RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc MSc to conduct a lecture under the topic of “The National Security Policy Development Concepts and Dimensions of Sri Lanka”. On his arrival at the DSCSC, he was received by the Commandant of the DSCSC, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP psc IG at his office prior to his invaluable lecture.
Major General Amal Karunasekara as an experienced panel member to formulate National Security Policy (NSP) for Sri Lanka explained the main pillars of NSP, its rationale, significance, elements and described the strategy formulation module and Sri Lanka’s internal and external security challenges.
In the aftermath of this enlightening lecture, the Commandant presented Major General Amal Karunasekara a token of appreciation in recognition of his great service rendered as a special guest lecturer to the Course Number -17.
