Colonel Mr. Sergei N. Beliankin, Military, Air and Naval Attaché of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Sri Lanka, paid a courtesy call on the Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Major General H H K S S Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc, on 12 September 2025.

During the cordial meeting, discussions centered on avenues to further strengthen defence cooperation between Sri Lanka and Russia. Both sides highlighted the significance of enhancing military-to-military engagement through academic interactions, training exchanges and professional development opportunities. Emphasis was placed on creating platforms that would enable officers from both countries to share operational experiences, strategic perspectives, and best practices, thereby broadening mutual understanding and professionalism.

Following the discussions, Military, Air and Naval Attaché of the Embassy of the Russian Federation and Commandant of DSCSC exchanged mementoes as a symbol of goodwill and partnership. The visit concluded with an interaction session and a formal lunch at the Officers’ Mess of DSCSC, further fostering camaraderie and professional bonds.
