The Model Discussion (MD) on Defensive Operations was conducted on 09 March 2021 at DSCSC Eastern Model Room. This MD has been designed to enhance the students’ knowledge on the fundamentals of Defensive Operations and develop the planning skills focusing on a Brigade level Defensive Operations in the context of a Divisional setting. The discussion commenced in the morning with the initial briefing of the Sponsor DS and continued till 1130 hours, covering all salient aspects of planning and conduct of the Defensive Operation. The discussion has generated healthy debates and constructive arguments confirming the understanding of the theoretical aspects in defensive operations and application of the same to practical scenario. It was an ideal forum for most of the Student Officers for sharpening their planning and briefing skills. Foreign Officers participated with lots of enthusiasm bringing out their different thoughts on the subject, adding more glamour to the exercise. The discussion was terminated with the summing up of Chief Instructor of the Army Wing.
