In conforming to the preserved traditions, an All-Rank tea party was held on 17 April 2023,  to mark the dawn of Sinhala Hindu New Year; the biggest cultural event in calendar year. Sweetmeats and special traditional dishes adorned the tea party reassuring the essential facet of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festivity.

The Commandant Major General Lasantha Rodrigo conveyed the Sinhala and Tamil New Year messages to all Officers, Other Ranks, members of the civil staff & all their family members. The occasion bestowed all the participants to enjoy the traditional sweetmeats while chatting with one another. The brief event culminated with the distribution of the New Year gifts to the civilian staff.
