The Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral UVMP Perera RSP**, USP, ndu, psc, MMaritmePol, MSc (DS) Mgt, MSc (MS & NSSS), BA (DS) Hons, PWO visited the Defence Services Command and Staff College on 04 December 2023. The Commander of the Navy was warmly welcomed by the Commandant of the college, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP psc IG at his office.
In view of complying with the time-honoured tradition at the staff college, the Commander of the Navy addressed the prospective graduands of the Course number 17 prior to the graduation on “Maritimization; Quest for a Visible Maritime Strategy and Sri Lanka Navy” at the Maroon Hall. The Guest of Honour stressed on strengths and vulnerabilities of island’s strategic location in the Indian ocean, threats and the professional mastery in fighting power, The Q & A interactive session enabled the student officers to clear off their queries on the domain before awarding the Commander with a memento by the Commandant to mark his presence ensued the formalities.
The Commander of the Navy had a fruitful interaction with student officers during the tea hosted at the upper lounge of the Officers’ Mess. The Deputy Commandant, all wing heads, the members of the faculty and the permanent staff and the student officers graced the event.
