THE ADDRESS BY THE COMMANDER OF THE NAVY TO THE COURSE NO 18

Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, RSP **, USP, ndu, psc, MMaritimePol, MSc (DS)Mgt, MSc (MS & NSSS), BA(DS) Hons, PWO, JP (Whole Island), the Commander of Sri Lanka Navy was warmly welcomed by the Commandant of the College, Major General D K S K Dolage USP psc on 04 December 2024 at his office.

As part of the longstanding tradition of the highest senior leadership addressing the course before graduation, the Commander of the Navy, at the invitation of the Commandant, delivered an insightful lecture to the ongoing Course No. 18 on the topic “Military leadership, character, strategic thinking and architecture of Sri Lanka Navy for Next Decade.During his address, the Commander extensively elaborated on the critical role of military leadership, character, and strategic thinking in shaping the Sri Lanka Navy’s future. He further discussed the architectural vision for the next decade, analyzing prevailing national threats and the challenges of modernizing the Navy into a formidable armed force by 2030.

The Commander of the Navy was presented with a token of appreciation for his enlightening address to Course No. 18. In return, as a gesture of mutual respect, he presented a plaque to the College, emphasizing the significance of his visit and the high regard in which he was held. The Course Participants were then privileged to engage with the Commander of the Navy in an informal and interactive session, further enriching their experience.
