The Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General GDHK Gunaratne (Retd) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil received a grandiose welcome by the Commandant of the College, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP psc IG on 11 December 2023. The guest of honour made a courtesy call at the Commandant’s Office prior to his address to the course.

At the invitation of the Commandant, the Secretary Ministry of Defence, a well-recognized alumina of the first ACSC Course, addressed the course no 17 prior to their graduation facilitating the student officers a valuable opportunity to fathom the experience of a veteran war hero ever produced by the nation who contributed immensely to eradicate the terrorism from the motherland. The guest of honour highlighted the upgrading and the development taken place in recent years since the inauguration of the Army Command and Staff College to Defence Services Command and Staff College during his speech. The guest of honour received a token of appreciation subsequent to his address at the Maroon Hall.

The Secretary to the Ministry of Defence interacted with graduands of the course number 17 during the tea hosted at the upper lounge of the Officers’ Mess.  The Deputy Commandant, all wing heads, members of the faculty and the permanent staff were present at the event.

2023 THE DSCSC HERALDED THE VISIT OF THE SECRETARY TO THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE AND THE BOARD OF MANAGEMNENT
