VICE CHANCELLOR OF GENERAL SIR JOHN KOTELAWALA DEFENCE UNIVERSITY VISITS THE DEFENCE SERVICES COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE

The Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) was honoured to host Rear Admiral    H G U Dammika Kumara VSV, USP, psc, MMaritime Pol, BSc (DS), Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), on 07 January 2026.

Upon arrival, the Vice Chancellor was accorded a formal drive past and subsequently called on the Commandant, DSCSC, Major General K W Jayaweera USP psc. During the meeting, key areas of academic collaboration, professional military education, and ongoing institutional initiatives were discussed.

Following the call on, the Vice Chancellor was accompanied to the Maroon Hall, where the Commandant extended a warm welcome and invited him to deliver his remarks. The Vice Chancellor’s briefing focused on the MSc (Defence and Strategic Studies) programme, offering valuable insights followed by an engaging Q&A. The event was marked by the vote of thanks proposed by the Chief Instructor of the Air Wing and a formal presentation of a memento in appreciation of his visit.

The day’s programme continued with a collaborative discussion at the White Hall and an interactive lunch at the Officers’ Mess, culminating with the Vice Chancellor’s formal departure.
