A virtual discussion on the topic, “Involvement of the Armed Forces in Coping with COVID 19 Pandemic”, was held on 20 July 2023. Selected students officers of Army Command and Staff College Indonesia and Defence Services Command and Staff College Sri Lanka participated in the discussion. All the participants demonstrated an exemplary level of professionalism and expertise in their discourse, making the discussion much fruitful to the audience of both the colleges.

The participants’ comprehensive analysis of the military’s response to the pandemic highlighted the integral role both the Armies played in supporting public health efforts, facilitating medical, logistics and continuity of essential services. Their in-depth understanding of the interconnectedness between national defence and public health illuminated the importance of a cohesive response to such crises.

The discussion served as a valuable platform for fostering awareness and understanding among the participants about the integral role that the military plays in tacking in pandemics and supporting national resilience.
