The “Exercise Crucible” is a major exercise of the DSCSC course calendar where student officers practice planning and conduct of Operations Other Than War (OOTW) when called upon to provide Military Aids to Civil Authorities (MACA). In view of enhancing the student officers’ knowledge on the subject, the DSCSC invited one of the veteran war heroes of Sri Lanka Army and former Governor of  Northern Province, Major General GA Chandrasiri (Retd) RWP VSV USP ndc psc to conduct a lecture on 27 November 2023.

The Commandant of the DSCSC, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP psc IG received the guest lecturer at his office prior to his informative lecture on the topic of “Military Aid to Civil Authorities”, in which he shared experiences on the role of military in different scenarios, means of coordination with civil agencies, military role in 5R Concept and handling of IDPs.

In the aftermath of the enlightening lecture, the Commandant presented a token of appreciation to Major General GA Chandrasiri (Retd) RWP VSV USP ndc psc in recognition of his great service rendered as a special guest lecturer to the Course Number 17.
