JOINT WARFARE WORKSHOP BY BANGLADESH DELEGATION – 2023

A delegation of nine Faculty Members of DSCSC Mirpur, Bangladesh, led by the Commandant, Maj Gen Md Faizur Rahman BSP SGP ndc afwc psc visited the DSCSC Sri Lanka from 21 June to 27 June 2023, to conduct the Joint Warfare Workshop on Strategic Analysis and Campaign Planning Process which is an annual event. The delegation was comprised with Brig Gen Mohammad Asadullah Minhazul Alam ndu psc PhD, Col Syed Mohammad Nurus Saleheen Yousuf PPM (Seba) afwc psc, Cdr S M Abdullah Woise (ND) psc BN, Lt Col Md Golam Fazle Rabbi BGBM psc, Lt Col Zubayer Al-Mahmud psc, Lt Col Mohammad Faruque Ahamed Bhuyan psc, Lt Col Md Solaiman SUP psc, and Wg Cdr K M Shaikh Bin Zaman psc Engg.

 

The objective of this Joint Warfare Workshop was to impart knowledge on the Planning Process at Strategic, Military Strategic and Operational level using strategic analysis and operational art and design. This Directing Staff guided joint exercise has bestowed the Student Officers with a unique opportunity to comprehend the strategic analysis and identify the campaign planning tools as a part of the activities of the National Security Council and Chief of Defence Staff. Student Officers displayed a great enthusiasm to find viable options to simulated strategically complex situations and it was a novel subject to them. After a successful workshop, Student Officers, were given the opportunity to present themselves about their plan for the given situations.

 

The Head of the Delegation, Maj Gen Md Faizur Rahman BSP SGP ndc afwc psc, paid courtesy calls on the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Gen GDHK Gunaratne (Retd) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil, the Commandant DSCSC Maj Gen BKGML Rodrigo RSP psc IG, the Commandant SLMA Maj Gen IANB Perera RWP USP ndu psc and the Commandant MSTS Brig JMSGB Jayamaha RWP RSP USP. On completion of the Joint Warfare Workshop, the delegation was facilitated with a visit covering down south and central part of the country.
