Exercise ‘Ink Blot’ is the first Counter Insurgency (COIN) exercise of the course calendar. This exercise was conducted at the college premises from 05 September to 10 September 2022, with the aim of exercising and evaluating Army Student Officers’ knowledge on planning and executing of COIN operations. The exercise was designed to provide an opportunity for Student Officers to practice the decision making process and initiate written staff works as the Commanders and their Staff of an Infantry Division before the deployment of their troops in COIN situation.

The exercise commenced with the mission analysis, the estimate process and developing a plan during initial three days. Thereafter, Student Officers were given equal opportunities to present and discuss their products over three days with their Directing Staff, covering all aspects of COIN operations at sub syndicate level.
