The Acting Director General and Director (Communications and Publications) of Institute of National Security Studies (INSS), Rear Admiral D C Gunawardena (Retd) RWP**, RSP, VSV, USP, nswc, psc, hdmc, MSc(DS)Mgt, MMS, MSc (NS & WS), BSc(Hons) visited Defence Services Command and Staff College on 28^th November 2022 for a visiting lecture.

The Commandant of the DSCSC, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP psc IG received the guest lecturer at his office prior to his informative lecture on the topic of ‘Role of INSS and general overview of national security of Sri Lanka’. During the lecture, he enlightened the faculty and the Student Officers of DSCSC Course No 16 regarding the initiatives of the INSS to research on the threats to national security of Sri Lanka with recommendations of policy options for Sri Lankan government to implement and ensure the national security. The fruitful question and answer session allowed Student Officers to clarify their doubts and broaden the knowledge through this lecture for their future applications as middle level decision makers of the Sri Lankan military.

Finally, the Commandant presented a memento as a token of appreciation to Rear Admiral D C Gunawardena (Retd) RWP**, RSP, VSV, USP, nswc, psc, hdmc, MSc (DS)Mgt, MMS, MSc (NS & WS), BSc (Hons) in recognition of his presence as a special guest lecturer to the Course Number-16. In reciprocation, Rear Admiral D C Gunawardena (Retd) donated books and journals published by INSS to the college library for the reference of faculty and Student Officers.
