The first Diners’ Club for the term 1 of the Defence Services Command and Staff College Course No 18 was held on 20 March 2024 with the participation of the Commandant, Deputy Commandant, Chief Instructors of the Army, Navy and the Air Wings, Directing Staff, Permanent Staff, Student Officers and their Spouses at the Officers’ Mess premises of the Defence Services Command and Staff College.
Honourable Premitha Bandara Tennakoon M.P., LLB (HON) UK, LLM AUSTRALIA, the State Minister of Defence, served as the Guest Speaker for the evening. He addressed the audience on the pertinent topic of ‘Contemporary National Security Challenges of Sri Lanka and how best the Armed Forces to be Structured and Prepared’.
Major General Lasantha Rodrigo, the Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College presented a memento to the Honourable State Minister of Defence at the conclusion of the event to appreciate his presence and to mark his maiden visit to the Defence Services Command and Staff College.
A brief interactive session in order for the State Minister of Defence to engage with the College Community and the Student Officers was also conducted at the end of the Diners’ Club.
