Defence Advisor of the Australian High Commission, Colonel Amanda Johnston, CSC** ndc paid a courtesy call on Major General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP psc IG, the Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College on 19^th June 2024.

The Commandant warmly welcomed Colonel Amanda Johnston on her arrival at the Commandant’s Office and discussed the shared commitment to fostering closer ties and enhancing mutual understanding through military education and training between Defence Services Command and Staff College and the Australian Command and Staff Course. After a cordial discussion on matters of mutual interest, plaques were exchanged between the visiting Defence Advisor and the Commandant to mark the strong and enduring goodwill between the two defence forces.

Subsequently, she made a visit to War Gaming Control Headquarters, witnessed the ongoing two-sided joint war game and gained first hand experience on joint planning and execution of offensive and defensive operations by Course Participants of DSCSC Course No 18. Further, a detailed briefing on the objectives, structure, and progress of the exercise by the Chief Instructor of the Army Wing, Head of Training Team and Directing Staff.

Afterwards, reflecting the importance of deepening the defence diplomacy between two nations, the Commandant shared insightful thoughts with Colonel Johnston during the ensuing interactive discussion. The official interaction drew to a close with the signing of Visitors’ Book at the Officer’s Mess.
