In the esteemed occasion of the conferral of the prestigious title of ‘passed staff college,’ a cohort of 150 graduates, which notably included 25 Foreign Course Participants from allied foreign militaries gathered for the Graduation Ball of the Defence Services Command and Staff College Course Number 18 at ‘The Grand,’ in Maitland Place, Colombo on 13 December 2024.
The Graduation Ball was a resplendent celebration, symbolising years of unwavering dedication and scholarly pursuit. The venue was adorned with exquisite decorations, transforming it into a vibrant tapestry of joy and cultural richness. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the Directing Staff, permanent staff members, and the cherished spouses of graduates came together to honour these remarkable individuals. The Chief Guest for this illustrious evening was Major General DKSK Dolage USP psc, Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College.
The evening commenced with a heartfelt welcome from the senior most course participants of Defence Services Command and Staff Course Number 18, setting an exuberant tone for the festivities. The captivating performance by the Sri Lanka Army dancing troupe, rhythmic drumbeats mesmerised attendees, rendering it an unforgettable experience.
As the evening drew to a close, Major General Kapila Dolage extended his best wishes to all graduates for future success in his concluding remarks. The Graduation Ball 2024 for Course Number 18 was not merely an event; it was a magnificent celebration of achievement and fellowship that resonated deeply within all who attended.
