‘Exercise Brass Tacks’, the first outdoor exercise of the DSCSC Course Number 19 was conducted from 24 to 28 April 2025 with the participation of all Army Course Participants including the officers of Friendly Foreign Nations.

The exercise was aimed at enhancing the knowledge of the Course Participants in planning and conducting of a deliberate defence at Battle Group level within the framework of a brigade, in a division setting.

The exercise was conducted as a combination of Syndicate Room Activities, Tactical Exercise Without Troops (TEWT) conducted at Asgiriya Temple premises in Gampaha and culminated with a mock Red Ink Correction (RIC) in order to prepare them for future exams.

The Course Participants were seen very enthusiastic to exercise the knowledge that they have gained through a series of presentations and Syndicate Room Discussions (SRD) conducted during the first term.
