In commemoration of the Esala Full Moon Poya Day, the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) organised a dansala (An alms-giving stall) on 10 July 2025, under the guidance and direction of the Commandant, DSCSC, Major General Shantha Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc.

The dansala, a traditional act of almsgiving deeply rooted in Sri Lankan Buddhist culture, was held at the entrance to the College premises and served cups of milk to all devotees and passersby as a gesture of compassion and goodwill. The packets of milk were generously donated by the Army Seva Vanitha Unit in support of this meritorious endeavour.

Organised by the staff of the DSCSC, the event witnessed the participation of approximately 1,650 individuals from the local community and commuters who stopped by to partake in the offering.
