The Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) had the honour of welcoming Air Marshal V. B. Edirisinghe, WWV, RWP, RSP and Three Bars, USP, fndu(China), psc, qhi, Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, for his customary address to the Course Participants of DSCSC Course No 19 on 05 December 2025.
Upon arrival, the Commander of Air Force was accorded full military honours before calling on the Commandant, Major General H H K S S Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc, for a cordial discussion on matters of professional and institutional relevance.
Then, the Commander of the Air Force delivered an insightful address on ‘The Role of the Sri Lanka Air Force’, highlighting the SLAF’s strategic responsibilities, contributions to national security, and its role in joint operations, disaster response, and national development and strategy beyond 2030. He also reflected on future challenges within the evolving geopolitical environment. A focused Q&A session followed, enabling Course Participants to seek further clarity on strategic, technological, and operational matters.
The visit concluded with the exchange of mementoes, symbolizing the strong professional ties between DSCSC and the Sri Lanka Air Force. This customary engagement forms an important part of the College’s academic programme, offering valuable strategic guidance to the Course Participants of DSCSC Course No 19, who will graduate on 16 December 2025.
