The inaugural meeting of the Ladies’ Club of the Defence Services Command and Staff College Course No 20 took place on 10 January 2025 at the Maroon Hall, with the gracious presence of Mrs. Chithrani Jayaweera, the President of the Ladies’ Club. The gathering included the spouses of the Faculty Members and Course Participants of DSCSC Course No 20.
Mrs. Chithrani Jayaweera, the President of the Ladies’ Club, in her opening remarks, appreciated the important role being played by the members of the Ladies’ Club as military spouses.
Further, Major Srimali Kirihetti SLAGSC, English Instructor of DSCSC, emphasised how the Ladies’ Club not only provides a platform for social engagement but also strengthens the bond between military families, creating an environment that nurtures personal growth, mutual support and collective well-being. Further, she encouraged all members to actively participate and make the most of the opportunities the Ladies’ Club would provide over the course of the year.
Captain Naduni Kumarage SLAWC, the Secretary of the Ladies’ Club, briefed on the various activities and initiatives planned for 2026, aiming to enrich the experiences of the members through a variety of events, workshops, and social gatherings that will promote learning, empowerment, and meaningful connections. Following that, a photograph was taken at the Officers’ Mess in the presence of the President of the Ladies’ Club.
After the formalities, the inaugural meeting concluded in setting the tone for the year ahead and affirming the importance of collaboration and shared experiences within the members of the Ladies’ Club.
