The Course Picnic of the Defence Services Command and Staff College Course Number 20 was conducted on 14 February 2026 at Nature Lovers’ Resort, Wagawaththa, Horana. The principal objective of this event was to provide Course Participants with practical exposure to the systematic planning, coordination, and execution of event arrangements, while concurrently promoting camaraderie, social cohesion, and mutual respect among officers from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.
The programme was organised as a structured sequence of recreational and interactive activities, deliberately designed to ensure inclusive participation of all attendees, including family members. These activities served to strengthen interpersonal relationships, encourage teamwork, and enhance informal learning beyond the academic environment.
Major General K W Jayaweera USP psc, the Commandant of the College, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, thereby enhancing the ceremonial significance and institutional prestige of the event. Wing Heads, the President and members of the Executive Committee of the Ladies’ Club, faculty members, permanent staff and their families, together with foreign and local Course Participants and their families, attended the event and actively participated in the proceedings.
