The Exercise PRIMER STRIKE (TUTORIAL ESTIMATE) has been designed to practice the techniques of the estimate process and operation staff work including a war game at brigade level in order to impart a clear understanding of the estimate process and its application to war fighting (focusing on offensive operations). The exercise was conducted from 12 to 20 March 2026. This is one of the major exercises for Army Course Participants during the Term 1, which aims to guide the Course Participants through the estimate process; the military decision making tool of Sri Lanka Army.
The exercise culminated with writing an Operation Order based on the exercise setting. The Commandant and the Chief Instructor closely monitored the exercise.
