Captain Anand Mukundan, the Defence Advisor, and Lieutenant Colonel Mandeep Singh Negi, SM, the Assistant Defence Advisor of the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, were warmly received by Major General KW Jayaweera USP psc, the Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), on 26 March 2026. The Deputy Commandant and the Brigadier Coordinating were also present on the occasion.
During the interaction, the Commandant briefed the visiting delegation on the training framework, academic curriculum, and key activities of the College, highlighting its role in developing professional and strategically competent officers. The visiting officers highly appreciated the serene and conducive learning environment of the College, which greatly enhances the professional development of officers.
The visit provided an opportunity for cordial and constructive discussions aimed at further strengthening the longstanding defence cooperation between Sri Lanka and India, with particular emphasis on military education and training. Both parties exchanged views on expanding professional military engagements and academic collaborations to enhance mutual understanding, interoperability, and capacity-building.
The visit concluded with the exchange of mementoes between the Commandant and the Defence Advisor, symbolizing the enduring friendship, mutual respect, and shared commitment towards further strengthening defence cooperation between the two nations.
