Major General (R) Dr Nayyar Naseer, HI (M), PhD, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, paid a courtesy call on Major General KW Jayaweera USP psc, Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), on 08 June 2026. He was accompanied by Colonel Muhammad Farooq, Defence Advisor of the High Commission of Pakistan. The Deputy Commandant and Wing Heads were also in attendance.
The Commandant briefed the High Commissioner on DSCSC’s training framework, academic curriculum, and key activities, underscoring the College’s role in producing professionally competent officers. Discussions addressed professional military education, contemporary security challenges, and regional cooperation. Drawing on his own experience as a Command and Staff College graduate, Major General (R) Dr Nayyar Naseer shared perspectives on leadership development and commended the high academic and professional standards maintained by DSCSC.
The programme included visits to the Library and Maroon Hall, followed by an interaction over tea, during which deliberations were held on matters pertaining to military education, regional security, and bilateral defence cooperation. The High Commissioner also interacted with the Pakistani Course Participants, and encouraged them to derive maximum benefit from the professional training opportunities afforded by the DSCSC.
The visit concluded with the exchange of mementoes and the signing of the Visitors’ Book, symbolizing the enduring friendship and shared commitment of Pakistan and Sri Lanka to strengthening defence relations and professional military engagement.
