Exercise ‘Concrete Jungle’; one of the major tactical exercises at DSCSC, terminated with a high note when Student Officers completely evicted the enemy and defended Kurunegala successfully on 25 May 2021. This year the exercise was conducted over a period of six days from 19 May 2021 to 25 May 2021.

This is a brigade level Army and Air Force joint exercise aimed at practicing Student Officers in the planning and execution of offensive and defensive operations against a generic enemy in an urban environment. The exercise includes an aerial and field reconnaissance followed by writing of an estimate, syndicate room discussions and Tactical Exercise Without Troops (TEWT).

Despite numerous difficulties, many initiatives (embedded training) were adopted by the College to maintain the reputation and realistic nature of the exercise. The safety measures were also introduced to prevent exposure of the Student Officers to COVID – 19.
