Exercise Golden Shield is the major joint services outdoor Tactical Exercise Without Troops (TEWT) of the course calendar of DSCSC. This exercise was initially conducted at the college premises from 08th to 12th June 2021 and then in the general area of Dambulla from 13th to 15th June 2021. The exercise was designed to provide an opportunity for all Student Officers to practice the decision making process and produce written staff work related to defensive operations at divisional level.

The Exercise commenced with the mission analysis and the formal estimate followed by the discussion was conducted at the syndicate rooms. The final plan was discussed at the exercise location on 13th June 2021 with confirmatory air reconnaissance conducted in the general area Dambulla which facilitated the confirmation of defensive plans. After the reconnaissance, discussions of all three wings took place over three days, covering all the aspects of defensive operations. Naval and Air Wing operations in support of the Army were also conducted in the exercise area Manikdena, Dambulla.
