A team of eight Faculty Members of DSCSC, Sri Lanka led by the Commandant, Major General IHMNN Herath RSP USP psc called on  DSCSC Mirpur, Bangladesh from 30 June to 8 July 2021, to take on the annually conducted symposium on Counter-Insurgency Operations (COIN). The delegation comprised with Brigadier UUKLS Perera RWP RSP USP psc, Commodore NPW Amaradasa RSP ndc psc, Gp Capt GGSR Gunawardena psc, Colonel GADKG Ganegoda RSP USP psc, Lieutenant Colonel RWSRSSDDS Senarath IG SLA, Wing Commander LAHP Liyanaarachchi psc, and Commander (G) DMA Dissanayake RSP psc.

The objective of the Sri Lankan delegation was to share the unique experiences of counter-insurgency operations in Sri Lanka with the 252 Student Officers at DSCSC, Mirpur and to enrich the Sri Lanka delegation too with Bangladesh COIN experiences.

Thereafter, the delegation was airlifted to Chittagong region to be received hospitably by the officials of 24 Infantry Division.  The 24 Infantry Division has been entrusted with the main task of administering COIN operations in areas of Chittagong Hill Tracts. During the field visits, the delegation interacted with ground troops at Rajmonipara and Kaptai Army Camps sharing mutual military experiences in COIN ops.
