Exercise Brass Tacks, 2022 was conducted successfully at the Defence Services Command and Staff College from Monday 25 April through to Friday 29 April 2022.
The exercise is the first tactical exercise of the second term where the SOs will hone their war fighting skill across a range of operations taking the lessons and experience gained during the foundation term. Exercise Brass Tacks is a battle group level exercise with a focus on execution of defensive operations within Brigade/Division setting.
The exercise is designed to enhance students’ knowledge on Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield (IPB), estimate process and battle procedure. The students exercised a battalion level defensive scenario and practised command and staff skills they developed in the first term.
Students of the Army wing took part in the exercise and this time complete exercise was conducted within the college premises.
At the end of the exercise, students attempted a mock Red Ink Correction (RIC) examination based on the exercise scenario in order to gain experience for upcoming examinations.
