Exercise Shadow Dance is a tactical level joint Command Post Exercise (CPX) aimed at practicing Student Officers in planning and execution of offensive and defensive operations as Sri Lankan Forces and Videsh Forces. It is one of the most important exercises and, the only exposure to conduct wargames in joint environment during the course. This year, the exercise was conducted over nine days commencing from 21 to 29 June 2022.

Student Officers’ plans were extensively tested for their viability during the CPX. At the end of the CPX, Student Officers were exposed to a realistic press briefing before a set of professional journalists. This briefing paved the way for them to understand the domain of media, and the art of handling journalists. Army Student Officers concluded the exercise with a RIC.
