Embracing the rich cultural tapestry of Sri Lanka, the DSCSC hosted a vibrant celebration of the New Year, known as Avurudu, on 06th April 2024. The Commandant of DSCSC, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP, psc, IG along with Swendrini Rodrigo graced this vibrant occasion, which was a testament to the college’s dedication to fostering unity and cultural appreciation on the eve of the college’s first semester.
The heart of the celebration lay in the traditional events, where Student Officers, Faculty Members, Permanent Staff, and their families came together and performed with joy and laughter. From spirited games to soulful songs and dances, every aspect of the event resonated with the spirit of togetherness.
Adding an extra layer of charm were the traditional performances by Gami Gedera, Korale Arachchi, and Gama Hamine, which captivated all in attendance. The presence of foreign Student Officers further enriched the experience, fostering cultural exchange and friendship.
This celebration wasn’t just about celebration; it was a moment for connection providing a unique opportunity for Student Officers and their families to forge lasting bonds with the college’s local and international coursemates and the Faculty and Permanent Staff, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
